OUR MISSION

We are the Democratic Town Committee of Waterford, CT. We move Waterford forward by getting Democrats elected in local, state and federal offices. The Waterford Democratic Town Committee is committed to maintaining excellence in our schools, protecting our environment and open spaces, supporting women’s rights, LGTBQIA equality, racial equality and creating cultural and recreational opportunities for all residents.

We support careful town planning, responsible budgets, and appropriately developing Waterford. We accomplish this through elective offices, appointed positions on town committees and boards, volunteerism and activism. We are accountable to the Democratic State Central Committee and all state and federal election laws.

OUR PLATFORM

Public Safety/Emergency Services

Coordinate town and volunteer fire and rescue services to ensure the safety of our residents and first responders.

Economic Development

Engage in proactive, long-term fiscal planning to fight rising mill rate increases by focusing on investing now to diversify industries and housing to ensure a stable, healthy future economy.

Education

Deliver education in a safe and healthy environment to ensure our students realize their full potential and provide emotional and physical support services to nurture our students, teachers, and staff.

Infrastructure

Improve, maintain and fully integrate technology to better utilize our Town buildings for additional public access and invest in long-overdue repairs and maintenance of our failing/crumbling roads, and other critical infrastructure.
