Joy Gaughan

Joy is a lifelong resident of Waterford and is currently a member of the Board of Education. She also works as a Lead Instructional Designer at Electric Boat for GP Strategies.

She is a former Waterford High School Science teacher who was also coach of the WHS field hockey and softball teams. Joy has also worked as the Environmental Health & Safety Training Lead at Pfizer, in Groton, and was the lead for GxP Training at Alexion, in New Haven.

Joy will focus on fiscal responsibility and ensuring that students are prepared for the 21st century.
